World-Class Fabrication Leader

Position Overview

As the World-Class Fabrication Leader , you will drive operational excellence in steel parts fabrication , overseeing stamping, welding, shear/punch forming, and more across multiple locations. You will ensure that we are building the right parts in the right places while optimizing equipment, leadership, and production strategies to maximize efficiency, quality, and profitability .

This is a high-impact, senior leadership role requiring deep expertise in fabrication processes, capital investment planning, and manufacturing optimization . You will be responsible for evaluating leadership teams, orchestrating large-scale CapEx investments, consolidating operations where necessary, and ensuring standardized equipment and maintenance practices across all facilities .

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Strategic Execution

• Lead and optimize world-class steel fabrication operations, ensuring high efficiency, cost control, and exceptional quality .
• Assess and develop leadership teams , ensuring the right talent is in place to maximize throughput, minimize scrap, and drive process efficiency .
• Leverage geographies, equipment, and leadership to determine if we are building the right parts in the right locations for maximum profitability.
• Identify consolidation opportunities , integrating divisions or production lines to streamline operations and reduce overhead.
• Standardize equipment and centralize parts/maintenance across all facilities to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Orchestrate large-scale CapEx investments , ensuring that new equipment aligns with company-wide operational goals.

2. Production & Process Optimization

• Oversee high-volume production scheduling , ensuring on-time delivery without compromising safety or quality.
• Implement lean manufacturing, automation, and process improvements to increase output, minimize waste, and optimize costs.
• Ensure that fabrication equipment, processes, and materials are standardized across the company for seamless integration and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to ensure all operations meet customer specifications and industry standards.

3. Parts Portfolio & Profitability Evaluation

• Analyze our parts portfolio , identifying where we should increase pricing, discontinue low-margin parts, or shift production locations .
• Identify non-strategic parts that should be eliminated or restructured for better profitability.
• Ensure that production is aligned with long-term business goals , optimizing for both cost-efficiency and market demand.

4. Quality, Scrap Reduction & Equipment Strategy

• Enhance quality assurance processes to ensure best-in-class product durability, precision, and consistency .
• Monitor and reduce scrap , driving process improvements to minimize material waste and maximize efficiency.
• Ensure that leadership teams have deep expertise in fabrication equipment and processes , as this directly impacts overall performance.
• Drive the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies , including robotic welding, automation, and digital fabrication tools .

5. Financial & Capital Investment Oversight

• Manage multi-million-dollar fabrication budgets , ensuring efficient allocation of resources and high return on investment.
• Oversee capital expenditure (CapEx) planning , ensuring that new equipment investments align with long-term production and profitability goals .
• Optimize labor, material, and machine utilization to reduce costs while maintaining world-class performance.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure a strong safety culture , maintaining compliance with OSHA, environmental, and industry safety standards .
• Lead training initiatives to enhance safety awareness and compliance across all fabrication facilities.

Qualifications

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience leading large-scale steel fabrication operations , with expertise in stamping, welding, and shear/punch forming .
• Proven ability to assess leadership, optimize production footprints, and implement process efficiencies .
• Experience managing multi-million-dollar CapEx budgets , standardizing equipment, and driving strategic manufacturing improvements.

Leadership Skills:

• A visionary manufacturing leader with a track record of scaling operations, driving change, and mentoring high-performing teams .
• Exceptional ability to assess leadership effectiveness, streamline operations, and execute data-driven strategies .

Technical Expertise:

• Deep knowledge of stamping, welding, and shear/punch forming technologies .
• Experience implementing automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 technologies .
• Proficiency in ERP and manufacturing management software to optimize production efficiency and inventory control.

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management , or a related field.
• Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing ) are a plus.
