Job Description

Series B stage investment is building a new product from the ground up and looking to hire a backend architect. You will play a pivotal role in designing, building and launching from zero to scale and work directly with the founders, who have worked on highly visible consumer products in their past.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in developing scalable, high-performance systems for large-scale data applications and a keen interest in working across the stack. Experience with constructing knowledge graphs is an advantage. As well as exposure to building applications from scratch at high growth companies.

Location: SF - Hybrid - 2/3 days in office

Size: ~20 people

Qualifications

• Expertise in designing scalable backend systems with a focus on storage (relational/NoSQL databases, distributed file systems), indexing (B-trees, full-text search), and optimization for high-performance data retrieval.
• Specialized skills in context retrieval (vector search, semantic caching) and LLM context management (tokenization, embeddings storage, context window optimization) for efficient, low-latency applications.
• Proficiency in building robust, distributed architectures using languages like Python, Java, or Go, and tools like Elasticsearch, Redis, or AWS (S3, DynamoDB) for data consistency and scalability.
• Strong problem-solving ability with a proven track record of collaborating with teams to optimize system performance under high-throughput, low-latency, and LLM-integrated workloads.
• CS degree or equivalent
