UI/UX Designer Job Specification

Job Title: UI/UX Designer

Salary Range: $120,000 - $125,000 annually

Location: Remote (must reside within 50 miles of the greater DC/Northern Virginia area)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer to enhance the usability and interaction design of digital products. This remote role offers a competitive salary and an opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team focused on improving user experiences. The ideal candidate will conduct usability testing, create design concepts, and present findings to both internal teams and end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct usability testing , including preparing test plans, creating wireframes, facilitating test sessions, analyzing data, and presenting results.
  • Develop information design concepts using wireframes, prototypes, and task flow diagrams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless user experiences.
  • Conduct user interviews and contextual inquiries to gather insights.
  • Utilize user tracking and metrics tools (e.g., Matomo) to analyze and monitor user behavior.
  • Visualize and report on user metrics through Qlik and Tableau .
  • Effectively communicate with end-users, internal teams, and stakeholders , translating complex data and design concepts into understandable insights.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with 7-10 years of relevant experience, OR
  • Master's degree with 5 years of relevant experience.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in usability testing , including creating and analyzing test plans and wireframes.
  • Strong background in creating wireframes, prototypes, and task flow diagrams to communicate design concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting user interviews and contextual inquiries .
  • Proficiency in user tracking tools (e.g., Matomo) and visualization platforms such as Qlik and Tableau .
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills , including the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Security Clearance:

  • Active TS (Top Secret) clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Usability or UX-related certification (e.g., Certified Usability Analyst, CUA) is a plus.
