20-30 hrs/week (usually 1:00-5:30PM)
No experience necessary
No Holidays or Sundays
Work one Sat. Morning every 2 weeks
SUMMARY
Assists Pharmacist with filling prescriptions accurately along with controlling inventory and expenses
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists Pharmacist in filling prescriptions
Receives and stores incoming supplies
Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records
Bills insurances, understands Medicare
Translates prescription into the computer system for pharmacist approval
Inputs prescription orders accurately and in a timely manner according to established departmental guidelines
Assists in completing and updating medication profiles for patients
Maintains complete and accurate dispensing or other required records of activity
Contacts physician offices for refills of continued prescriptions where permitted by state Pharmacy regulations.
Builds and maintains positive relationships with customers including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and vendors
Complies with all HIPPA laws and regulations
Keeps up to date with new medications and prescription changes
Is working towards or holds a pharmacy technician certification
Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
or one to three months related experience and/or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and fractions)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Is working towards or holds a pharmacy technician certification
