**********NEW WAVE IS HIRING ACROSS THE STATE OF INDIANA********** Music therapy is one of the services offered by New Wave Wellness. Here, music is used in a healing context to attend to the whole individual, from their physiological to their mental to their social requirements. Since music therapy is already recognized as a medical specialty, it must be provided by a credentialed professional. After gathering information about the individual, our music therapist creates a treatment strategy tailored specifically to them. Activities in this plan involve musical expressions such as creating, performing, or appreciating music. Through participation in music with our music therapist, a patient's skills are strengthened and transferred to other areas of life. Music therapy can help those who have trouble finding the right words to express themselves by providing them with a new way to connect with others and with themselves. Music therapy has been shown to be beneficial in a variety of contexts, including boosting motivation to engage in medical care and fostering a sense of community among care providers and patients. After assessing the client's needs and interests, New Wave Wellness develops a treatment plan specifically for them. We use music as a tool for healing by instructing patients in techniques for self-soothing, expressing feelings, decreasing discomfort, etc. Appointment duration often varies from person to person based on their requirements. Meeting durations can be adjusted to fit everyone's budget and need. There are many examples of music's use in medical and mental health care settings, as well as in spiritual and cultural contexts. Our therapists are dedicated to providing consistent, high-quality care and keeping the client's support group informed of their progress on a frequent basis. Minimal Requirements: Education:

1. Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree in music therapy or therapeutic music
2. Ability to provide official transcripts and diploma
3. Currently maintain Certified Board for Music Therapist (CBMT) credential/(MT-BC credential)

1. Must be able to complete background checks without any issues or concerns reported
2. Must possess an active driver's license, vehicle registration and insurance
3. Must be able to obtain personal liability insurance

1. Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities
2. Ability to work with veterans and military population
3. Ability to work in groups with colleagues as needed.
4. Ability to take on an intern, as needed.
5. Must be able/willing to transport clients in your vehicle

1. Ability to work on your own as well as take direction from others
2. Must complete the client Assessment/s and Treatment Plan/s with in 45 days of initial client contact
3. Ability to think outside of the box to best advocate for your client's needs and independence
4. Must complete paperwork in a timely manner.
5. Ability to attend a once-a-month virtual contractor/company meeting.
6. Complete training for staff and family members on client
7. Attend client meetings as scheduled
8. Must be able to effectively communicate with your client, their team members, and New Wave Wellness colleagues.
9. Must be able to obtain valid CPR/1st Aid Training and obtain a negative TB test.
