The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for setup/teardown/maintenance of Additive Manufacturing equipment to achieve production output goals while adhering to Quality standards and expectations. What You'll Do: Operate and maintain Arcam Q10+ Electron Beam Melting (EBM) 3D printers for metal additive manufacturing. Prepare build plates, load powder, and set up print jobs per engineering specifications. Monitor print operations to ensure consistent part quality and address any deviations. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of EBM machines, including electron beam gun maintenance and chamber cleaning. Conduct post-processing operations such as powder removal, depowdering, support structure removal, and heat treatment. Perform quality checks on printed parts using visual inspection, dimensional measurement tools, and other metrology equipment. Troubleshoot machine issues and collaborate with engineers to resolve process-related challenges. Handle metal powder material, ensuring proper storage, recycling, and disposal according to safety and environmental standards. Document production data, machine parameters, and maintenance records in ERP/MES systems. Follow strict safety protocols when handling high-voltage equipment, vacuum systems, and metal powders. Work closely with quality, engineering, and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and yield. Assist in process development and continuous improvement initiatives for additive manufacturing. Maintain a clean and organized work environment following 5S and lean manufacturing principles. What You'll Need: Associate degree in manufacturing, engineering technology, or a related field, or a technical manufacturing certificate required. Experience with EBM or other metal additive manufacturing processes (SLM, DMLS, LPBF) is a plus. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and process documentation. Proficiency with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with high-temperature processes and metal powders. Basic knowledge of G-code, machine programming, or CAD software is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized work instructions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring standing for extended periods.
