  • Lead regular internal and cross-yard audits, inspections, and risk assessments to proactively identify hazards and eliminate risk exposures.
  • Monitor trends in incidents, near-misses, and audit findings to drive continuous improvements and risk mitigation strategies.

WSIB Claims & Return-to-Work Coordination

  • Manage all WSIB claims and case files, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Develop and lead the Early and Safe Return-to-Work Program in collaboration with supervisors and medical professionals.

Training & Employee Engagement

  • Develop, oversee, and deliver HSSE training programs, including orientation, refresher training, and targeted risk-specific modules.
  • Mentor and coach supervisors and employees to build strong safety leadership and hazard recognition capabilities at all levels.
  • Work collaboratively with the Training Coordinator to identify and close training gaps in safety, security, and environmental awareness.

Leadership & Culture Building

  • Champion a positive safety culture where all employees are empowered to participate in HSSE initiatives.
  • Advise senior leadership on HSSE performance metrics, emerging risks, and strategic priorities.
  • Lead the site's Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) activities and ensure effective functioning and compliance.
