We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-skilled Manufacturing Design Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing new product designs and maintaining existing products in a high volume, high mix manufacturing environment. They will be involved in all aspects of the manufacturing process, from initial concept to product launch, and will play a key role in driving our company's manufacturing capabilities forward. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, advanced problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
1. Design and develop new products and systems according to specifications.
2. Conduct design reviews and make appropriate recommendations to ensure the quality and performance of materials, products, and systems.
3. Utilize CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
4. Support the development of 3D printed components and systems.
5. Perform detailed calculations to establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
6. Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
7. Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
8. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors.
9. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design related problems in manufacturing.
10. Ensure all designed products adhere to the requirements for safety, production efficiency, customer requirements, and profitability.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing design role OR electrical design role
3. Proficient with CAD software such as AutoCAD 3D, Creo, or similar.
4. Experience with 3D printing technologies.
5. Solid knowledge of electrical design and troubleshooting.
6. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
9. Knowledge of industry, engineering, math, and materials principles.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
