Job Description

Position Description: Responsible for financial reporting, provides management team with timely information, assists in supervising a staff of two in billing/receivables/cash applications and accounts payable/payroll/cash disbursements. Coordinates annual review by outside CPA firm, assists in maintaining a reliable job costing process, an effective system of accounting/operational controls, and actively seeks continuous improvement in accounting functions to improve productivity. Uses timely and relevant financial information to work with all departments to improve the financial performance of the company.

Specific Job Responsibilities :

1. Responsible for monthly and year-end financial reporting. This includes general ledger, journal entries, financial statements, reconciliations, analysis of results, and preparing work papers for annual review by outside CPA firm.

2. Provides management with timely, accurate, and relevant information to improve the performance of the company.

3. Be proficient in company utilized computer software applications including PACE (ERP system), SharePoint, FAS (Fixed Asset Software), Paycor (External Payroll Processor System), Fidelity (Third Party 401K Processor Portal) and any Vendor/Customer Portals as applicable.

4. Develop a rapport with customers and/or suppliers as may be necessary.

5. Coordinate efforts for continual improvement in understanding of job cost structures and maintaining a reliable inventory and job costing system.

6. Prepare financial analysis for capital expenditure proposals.

7. Prepare financial analysis for business and annual health insurance renewals.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND:

1. Minimum of BS degree in accounting.

2. Proven experience in an accounting supervisory or leadership role.

3. Track record of driving organizational improvements.

4. Seven to ten years of experience including work in a manufacturing environment.

5. Expertise in using MICROSOFT office applications.

6. Exposure to the concepts of cost accounting.

DESIRED BACKGROUND:

1. CPA and/or MBA.

2. Experience working in a job-shop environment.

3. Experience working in an SQL database environment.

2. Proven track record of successful collaboration with other areas of company to get things accomplished. Ability to resolve situations/conflicts or propose a constructive solution.

3. Experience, ability, and personal skills to back-up the Controller when required.

4. Ability to work independently and oversee multiple tasks and priorities while also maintaining attention to detail.

5. A person of high integrity and positive energy who will not accept the status quo in accomplishing tasks. An ideal candidate will have a process improvement mindset.
