YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Area Superintendent is responsible for overseeing total electrical project supervision effort to ensure appropriate personnel, budget and schedule are met.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Plan and supervise General Foreman and Foreman on craft activities, including determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.

  • Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors.

  • Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and Project Management to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.

  • Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.

  • Maintain communications with unions, resolving jurisdictional disputes, requisitioning required manpower, etc., as necessary.

  • Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.

  • Maintain liaison with other departments (i.e., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.

  • Lead in the implementation of all field training programs.

  • Closely monitor company QA/QC programs.

  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

  • The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing and other duties will be assigned based on the positions role within the business unit.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Extensive experience in electrical construction, preferably in a supervisory or superintendent role
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes (NEC), blueprints, and schematics
  • OSHA certification and a strong focus on job site safety
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and crews simultaneously.
  • Identify and meet customer's needs, expectations, and requirements
  • Demonstrates expertise in commercial electrical field management, design and contracting
  • Self-starter and a problem solver
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks under time constraints
  • Possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of specific variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Familiarity with team-building techniques
  • Proficient in using management software, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred and tools
  • Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Oral and written communication skills as required for the position
  • Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
  • Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others
WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
  • Minimum of eight years' supervisory experience in similar facility, construction technology, methods and equipment, tools and work procedures required.

  • Can be a combination of education, training and relevant experience.

TRAVEL:
  • Up to 25-50 %

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
